#24 Outback Woman Ep1 - Early Life in the Outback: A Life of Love, Loss and Overwhelming Resilience

  • Summary

  • My mother was born in an era plagued by war and uncertainty, yet her childhood was filled with joy and adventure. Growing up on a cattle station in the middle of the Outback, she experienced a kind of freedom that few can imagine. Surrounded by vast landscapes and endless possibilities, she learned to appreciate the simple things in life. In this harsh but beautiful environment, she developed a strong connection to nature and an unbreakable spirit.

As she reflects on her upbringing, my mother often speaks of the endless days spent exploring with her siblings, riding horses and chasing kangaroos. But amidst the idyllic scenery, there was also a sense of responsibility and hard work. Living on a cattle station meant taking on tasks that most children would never even dream of. From mustering cattle to helping with daily chores, my mother learned the value of hard work and determination from an early age.
