  • The Morning Footy crew welcome in The Athletics Joshua Kloke to discuss the penalty that has been handed down to the Canadian Women's soccer team. The punishment by FIFA includes: six point deduction at 2024 Olympics, Head Coach Bev Priestman, suspended from any football-related activities for one year, and Canada Soccer has been fined 200,000 Canadian Dollars, roughly $144,500 in USD. Former Canadian Men's National Team Coach John Herdman released a statement saying, " I'm highly confident in my time at head coach at the Olympic Games or World Cup, we've never been involved in any of those activities. I've always gone into Olympic games, World Cups, big events with integrity in mind." This is an on going story and in the meantime, the Canadian Women's team has won both their group stage matches but currently have zero points as a result.
