Kansas City was powered by Vinnie Pasquantino, who hit two home runs and drove in four runs. Bobby Witt Jr. also added a homer in the eighth inning. Starting pitcher Keider Montero took the loss for Detroit, surrendering four runs over seven innings, while Seth Lugo pitched a gem for Kansas City, allowing just one run over eight innings with three strikeouts. The lone Tigers run came in the fourth inning on a sacrifice fly from Bligh Madris. With this defeat, the Tigers continue to face challenges in their quest to climb up the standings.
