The year is 1522 and King Henry VIII has been married to Queen Catherine of Aragon for thirteen years. But they have no son. Then Anne Boleyn arrives at the royal court from France accompanied by her maid Margery Hallows. Her remarkable gifts make her the most desirable lady at court. And her extraordinary dresses make her the mirror of fashion. “The Tudor Maid” tells the story of the fascinating woman who captured the heart of a king through the eyes of her seamstress.

This was such a great way to start a new historical series. We all know the story of Anne Boleyn and King Henry VIII, but seeing it through the eyes of her maid, Margery, made it feel totally new. Margery is Anne's seamstress, and you really get a great look at the court of 1522. Anne arriving from France and shaking things up, from her dazzling clothes to her style, was fascinating. Since Margery is the one making those amazing dresses, you feel very close to all the drama as Anne goes from desirable court lady to the woman who captures the King's heart. If you like historical fiction, especially about the Tudors, this book is a must-listen. It's an an easy, enjoyable story with a unique viewpoint. Highly recommend.
