The Gate succeeds in doing exactly what it should: hooks the reader, raises compelling questions, and leaves you eager to continue the journey. Really enjoyed the pacing. Balances intrigue and discovery well while allowing the lore to unfold naturally without overwhelming the story or me as the reader.
