Madeline inherits her late mother's charming cottage nestled in the breathtaking Scottish Highlands, a picturesque setting that she hopes will offer her a tranquil escape from her bustling life in London.
Eager to immerse herself in her new surroundings, Madeline secures a position as a schoolteacher at a remote school that caters to a small community of children.
However, it doesn’t take long for Madeline's idyllic dreams to be overshadowed by unsettling experiences. Her encounters grow increasingly bizarre, particularly with a seemingly mysterious man named John Price, whose piercing gaze and enigmatic aura leave her feeling both intrigued and unnerved. Despite her apprehension, she can’t shake the feeling that there’s more to him than meets the eye. Just when the weight of the unsettling occurrences begins to bear down on her, she crosses paths with the reassuring local policeman, Hamish Kennedy. With his warm demeanour and genuine concern for the community, he quickly puts Madeline's mind at ease.
Yet, as the days unfold, ominous events begin to unsettle the tranquillity of Glencoe. Shadows deepen, and secrets within the picturesque village threaten to unearth historical horrors that Madeline must confront, challenging her newfound peace in ways she never imagined. The tranquil beauty of the Highlands begins to mask a chilling undercurrent that could change everything for her.
