On Monday evening, November 10th, 1975, the famous iron ore freighter, Edmund Fitzgerald was desperately fighting her way through a raging tempest on the treacherous Great Lake Superior. Suddenly, shortly after 7:15, the 729 foot long ship nose-dived to the bottom of Superior without warning. The end was so abrupt and catastrophic, that not a single distress signal was sent. The tragic loss of the Edmund Fitzgerald and her 29 man crew was one of the worst maritime disasters in United States' maritime history. Nearly one half century has passed since that horrible event. Entire chapter on Iron making 🥱

Auto voice was fine for this title but the book could have been half the length with all the extra details, i just wanted to hear about the damn shipwreck. Everything else was so annoying and boring.

Good History

I really enjoyed the background information. Most stories start with the final voyage, so it was nice to get information on the ship, the geography of the lake, and information on the iron ore industry before getting to the final voyage and the aftermath.

Virtual voice but still worth it!

Best virtual voice that I have heard but still terrible and confusing when the manuscript is not well proofread. I want to comment that this is still worth a listen as the author has done an excellent job conveying the story and with very little available on the audible market for this kind of history, this one should not be skipped.
