I love listening to Louise Allens books. What a wonderful caring family. This book is great, all her books are. This one was really good, so sad at the end. I was hoping for a happy ending.

Great

I truly enjoy all of Louise’s books and normally I enjoy them more because there’s usually a good ending to them but for the first time it wasn’t and that is the reality. Not everything is a happy ending but I hope willow will find her way herself and finds a good support system. I truly admire the patience, empathy and strong will that Louise has for these children. As a CHSAS survivor myself I always wished that I had someone who was as kind and empathetic as Louise.

Thank you for writing Louise, you’ve brought me to tears, to laughing and showed me new perspectives; And thank you for being such a strong advocate in a world where people say they are here for the children but do everything but help sometimes.

A thoughtful and admirable book/book series

I loved the book it was so sad, the child services are just unbelievable there. the children are not even considered in the decision making. Willow needed that family. shed probably still be there if she got the right help she needed. I wish there was a 2nd part to Willow saying she turned 18 and came home.

Willow the child children services fed to the wolves.

All of this author’s stories are heartbreaking, yet this one is much more so. The narrator is incredibly talented and elicits the deep emotional energy that was put into the writing of this book.

Heartbreaking

Willows story had me on edge from the moment she got to the Allen Household. Louise has such an incredible way of foreshadowing. I could feel the dread begin to bubble up even when everything seemed wonderful!

Melanie, the narrator, makes you FEEL a different depth of the story.

Heart Wrenching & Devastating
