This topic is so stigmatized that Life After Tech is one of the first books–and possibly the first book–specifically about leaving technology jobs and careers.

Life After Tech is for everybody considering a career or work change:

  • Struggling to find a tech job
  • Can't transition into tech
  • Job reduced or replaced by “tech”
  • Those expecting to work many more years in tech but want to plan ahead or add non-tech work to their lives
  • Non-tech workers

The Life After Tech Discord community, membership website, and other resources make Life After Tech more than a book. https://LifeAfterTech.info It's a support system that welcomes everybody no matter where they are on the ever-changing working in tech/not working in tech spectrum. You can also find the PDF, EPUB, and audiobook on our website.

Insightful and actionable

Listen to it so you know you aren't crazy, and so you'll have a practical map to leave the craziness behind to whatever degree makes the most sense for you.

There are many great observations, insights, and hard truths in this audio-book. What I appreciate most was that it consolidated many things I’ve witnessed, been thinking, and feeling about the tech industry into a cogent conversation on both the state of the industry as well as possible paths forward.

It was sort of a mix of Peopleware and Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance for me. Those are both amazing books so I'm giving one of the best compliments I know how when saying that.
