Christian nationalism is a powerful and pervasive ideology, and it is becoming normalized. From Amanda Tyler, lead organizer of the Christians Against Christian Nationalism campaign, comes How to End Christian Nationalism, your vital companion for countering this dangerous ideology. Tyler draws on her experiences, conversations with pastors and laypeople, research, Scripture, her Baptist convictions, and her work as a constitutional law expert to help us confront Christian nationalist fervor.

You'll learn how to distinguish Christian nationalism from the teachings of Jesus and to demonstrate how the former perpetuates white supremacy. This book also unpacks key truths we can share with others: Patriotism is not the same as nationalism. Religious freedom means little if it's not for everyone. Christians follow a gospel of love, not the idol of power.

Here, you'll find stories of what Christians are doing to resist Christian nationalism in their churches and communities, plus ideas for your own work. From strategies for faith-rooted organizing to guidance for holding hard conversations with loved ones, Tyler offers practical ways to protect faith freedom for all. We've all seen what Christian nationalism can do. Now is the time for Christians to reckon with its harm. Now is the time to end it.

A compelling read (listen) for Christians trying to make sense of our current political environment. Good balance of history, research, scripture, and personal narrative to help understand and meet the moment. I feel more connected and empowered to make a difference in our community.

A call to action

I found the book very helpful in clearly setting out why Christians find christian nationalism deeply problematic, and strategies for countering it.

The reader did a fine job. I had hoped author would narrate. I really like Amanda Tyler's voice on Respecting Religion podcast.

a ray of hope...

It’s often uncomfortable to be confronted with a truth that differs from one held habitually & since childhood.
Facing my own christian nationalism has purified my faith vs hindered it.
The book takes a hard look at how our faith becomes politicalized.

Thought provoking!

The book helped to broaden my understanding of Christian Nationalism. It provided that understanding along with some of its history. Christian Nationalism isn’t something new as an ideology. It was here before this country became a country and has operated pretty much the same since those explorers first set foot on these shores. The possession of Native land along with the murdering of those same natives. Some who may have helped them survive when they might have otherwise perished.
What’s more is gaining the understanding that from the country’s founding have turned a blind eye to Christian Nationalism and thus allied it to flourish.
Over time Christian Nationalism has held America back from reaching its full potential potential.
It holds America back from moving further toward being a more perfect union!
Reading this book helped me to understand that not only is Christian Nationalism a threat to and antithetical to the concept of the American idea, it is not just not Christianity it actually anti-Christianity!
The books shares tools for all of us to stand up, speak up and act up against Christian Nationalism. The author makes it clear that it is an obligation as a Christian to reject idolatry which is what Christian Nationalism is.
The book is a must read for those who want to gain a better understanding of what Christian nationalism is. It’s level of threat to Christianity how it is an American but what might be surprising too many is how anti-Christian it truly is into the realm of idolatry it is not a static read as it shares tools in how the Christian Should and must employ to help defeat Christian nationalism as an obligation of our faith and allegiance to God.

That although the name may be new to some it, it has actually been here since some of the first explorers set foot on this land
