When I said I wanted to do it on my own, I didn’t think it’d be so hard. Barely managing to get by wouldn’t be so bad except for the gripping loneliness. I like to flirt, and at times it comes across as desperate, but maybe I am. After flirting with my boss’s brother, I didn’t think it would turn into what it did. After all, isn’t Aaron straight?

Being thirty-five, the oldest child, and still single is, admittedly, a little embarrassing. When my brother asked me to be the best man at his wedding, I probably shouldn’t have invited the waiter who flirted with him. It’s not as if my family assumes that maybe I’m not so straight after being single for so long, so it shouldn’t be a shock to bring a man, right?

This book has been on my tbr list for a while so when the audiobook came out, I had to give it a go. JD Tomlinson did such an amazing job by taking on Trevor and Aaron. When it was over, I only wanted more.

I love boss/employee tropes so much and this one was so good. Trevor is struggling financially and what a perfect way for Aaron for him to help him out by asking Trevor to be his date to his brother’s wedding, which happened to be his brothers idea to begin with.

The way that Aaron’s mother treated both Amanda and Trevor was just horrible and I’m so glad when Aaron told her to shove it. And when Aaron told Angelo to get lost after that whole blow up scene at the end, it was the scene I’ve been waiting for. Angelo was a douche and blamed his breakup on Trevor. Trevor did nothing wrong and Angelo should have taken his own breakup in his own way.

Besides that, Trevor and Aaron were so freaking adorable. The whole biawakening and Aaron realizing he was so into Trevor was so adorable. Even his brother knew it from the get go.

I loved Nick and Sylvia so much and if it wasn’t for Sylvia, I don’t think that Trevor and Aaron would have gotten together. And oh my, the spicy scenes were absolutely sinfully perfect.

The chemistry between Aaron and Trevor was undeniable because they wanted each other even though they tried so hard to fight their attraction. Loved every single part.

Amazing story

I absolutely adored this story. Aaron and Trevor are so cute together.
We get boss/employee, age gap, MM.
The narration was really good. This was the first full audio book I’ve listened to because a lot of them make me cringe (no offense to the narrator). This one was really well done!

Fun, cute story

This book has some favorites: forbidden love (boss/employee), only one bed, fake dating, age gap and queer awakening. I really enjoyed all of the characters (except for a couple obvious ones), the story was realistic and adorable, and it ends very happily. Narration was so well done, too.

Love and Genuine Connection

This story was such a delightful journey! The characters were layered and relatable, creating an inspiring portrayal of resilience and self-discovery. It was wonderful to see the development between them, and the relationships truly reflected the joy and challenges of embracing your authentic self. The narrator brought a heartfelt touch to each scene, making the story feel alive and meaningful. A vibrant, feel-good read that celebrates love in all its beautiful forms!

Trevor and Aaron are so much fun!

JD did an amazing job! I had never read this before I listened and I'm kind of glad, it was so much fun. I loved the ride of their relationship growing! They were perfect together ❤️
