A sexy cinnamon-roll lumberjack offers me a ride into town, a stay at his cozy cabin, and eventually his bed. All things I can't refuse.

After several flirty glances and heated mistletoe kisses, we create rules: no strings attached and no falling in love. Agreeing to the impossible might be my biggest mistake yet.

I visited the small town for one reason only: to prove a point to my father.

Now I've got a fake boyfriend.

A secret to keep hidden.

And a choice to make that will determine more than just my future.

A Very Merry Mistake is a standalone with a sweet-as-gingerbread happily ever after. This small-town contemporary romance has a dash of grumpy/sunshine, forced proximity, secret identity, a protective cinnamon-roll lumberjack and sassy heroine, and tons of Southern goodness. Fade to black is not included!

The only reason for 4 stars on performance is that I prefer duet narration. The storyline is sweet. I guess duet narration cost too much. It’s takes away from the masculinity of the male character when the female reads his part. Here’s to hoping that technology allows for duet narration in the future.

Excellent Storyline

A Very Merry Mistake is a small town, holiday destination town, heroine billionaire meets lumberjack romance. Claire is in town to buy Jake’s family farm for her dad’s hotel/resort company, but doesn’t tell him. He rescues her from the side of the road, and they have a 15-day romance until the truth comes out. Claire has to come to terms with where her heart really lies. The romance is lust to love within a month, and the story explores what really matters and not being a perpetual people pleaser. There is some praise kink along with holiday cheer! A Very Merry Mistake was a fun time!

Every year I buy Christmas books from authors I’ve never read, to listen to in Nov/Dec while I shop, wrap & decorate. I absolutely loved this book so much I bought book 2 & will stop my Christmas listening to hear about the next brother. This had wonderful characters, amazingly descriptive town & people in it. I can see myself walking into those stores. The love scenes were very spicy but not too many & they went with the flow of the story. I highly recommend it to adults of all ages.

Fantastic, romance with just enough spice
