Time and tide wait for no witch…

Darcy Ingram's time in supernaturally-tinged Brookhaven has been anything but idyllic. She solved one murder, but now a friend is begging for help finding his missing sister. A day cruise with her co-workers sounds like just the break she needs. But when a passenger dies under unusual circumstances, she finds herself tangled up in another mystery.

Darcy’s snooping suggests her missing person may be involved, but as she unearths more clues about the victim’s life, she’s left with more questions and a growing list of suspects.

With the help of her friends and her blossoming plant magic. Darcy uncovers the killer. But will her power be enough to save her friend’s life and stop the killer in their tracks?

HIGH TIDE is the second novel in the Brookhaven Cozy Mystery series. Get ready to sprinkle some magic into your mystery. The Brookhaven Cozy Mystery series is best enjoyed in order. You can start Darcy's journey in book 1, High Noon.

I always welcome a good murder mystery. You throw in magic and a ghost and it's even better! Darcy reminds me of Jessica Fletcher from Murder, She Wrote. If Jessica Fletcher had magical powers and worked at a pot dispensary. It's a lot of fun. Adding to it all is the narration by Bonniejean Boettcher, which is great. She really captures the fun tone of S.E. Biglow's writing. I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!

Fun read

From start to finish the whole story was off-balance. Again, like book one there are way too many coincidences instead of good story telling. Nothing makes sense. We still have no idea how the brother figured put how to come to this small town from NYC other than he just had a feeling. ugh even for magic users that is a lame excuse. The rest of the story is disjointed. WHY is this newcomer involved in serving a murder? Her lame magic gift is not conducive to sleuthing and shevhas no other skills! In book one she was a suspect so her wanting to clear her name but in this story, why? It feels like we are reading a badly patched quilt , sewn in a hurry by armatures. pull the wrong thread and it all falls apart.

2 parts that bothered me the most. The 2 women, Vera from book 1 and MacKenzie from book2 were supposed to be doppelganger who looked SO MUCH alike that it fooled a close brother in book 1 🙄 but an after thought in book 2. Really?

And the second is this really weird relationship between the MC and I guess a woman she's attracted to? It's iscalso fractured and makes NO sense. Arethey lesbians? poor man's soulmates, blossoming BFF? I just don't get it. There is too much unnecessary filler.

I've decided not to move on to book 3.

Pretty Ridiculous
