Amazing

This book was amazing. It was like stepping into a chapter of someone’s life with the honesty and intensity of the immediacy of those moments. But with a narration that gave it the 20/20 vision of hindsight.

Fun Story, Enjoy Listening to the Author

I follow Amy Silverberg on social media and like her standup. That may have influenced how much I liked this book. Several of the main character's traits are clearly autobiographical because she has referenced them in her standup (book clubs for rich women, teaching writing at a local college). This reads a bit like she started a memoir and decided she needed to add a lot more drama. She succeeds!

Lots of poignant descriptions, some of which stuck with me. For example, her childhood friend says, "Whenever I share something I've learned, all the other dads pull out their phones to see if it's true. Your dad just listens and says "that's interesting."

This was a fun listen!

Slow read

The story had potential, read for book club so I felt like I had to give it a chance. The ending was Especially disappointing and vague! Lots of detail with pointless information, very hard to make myself finish!!
