Rose is BACK!

It’s been nearly three years since the fall of the Hardshaw Group, and Rose is living a low-key life in Fenton County. She’s happily married to Joe Simmons, raising her own two children along with her niece and nephew, and running her landscape business. Everything is coming up…well…roses! And still, when she and her best friend Neely Kate unearth a peculiar wooden box in a client’s yard, she finds herself yearning for the good old days of solving mysteries.

Be careful what you wish for.

Before she can even fight that particular urge though, a teenage boy shows up asking for protection from “The Lady in Black”. There’s no denying it. Trouble seems to be landing right on Rose’s doorstep just like it used to. And no one knows better than her; trouble always comes in threes…

The past is better left behind, but is it ever really gone?

So happy that Rose Gardner books are continuing. I missed her and was heartbroken when It All Falls Down was released and was marked as the end. This book did skip ahead and we miss out on the occurrences during the time lapse, but even so, it carried on seamlessly. This book delivers an exciting storyline and offers a snippet of more to come so I’m beyond ecstatic! Denise Grover Swank is a top notch storyteller and knows how to weave an excellent series and now she has connected her Harper Adams series to Rose Gardner. I can’t wait for more! The audiobook was so good and it was like returning home to family after years of being away as I listened to Shannon McManus’ voice narrate Trouble Comes In Threes. Loved this one so much! 10 stars!!!

Rose and her crew are back at it!

I'm so happy that Denise did another book for Rose. I'm just still so bummed out that she didn't end up with James. You really felt their love story. Rose just doesn't seem to have the passion with Joe as she did with James. Joe is great and he stood up when Rose needed him. Joe loves Rose so much. Rose loves him also but it's not like how she felt for James.

Spoiler:::::: This book left it open for more Rose. It is linked to the Harper Adams book which also has James in it. Seems like Rose isn't as badass in this book which is what I loved about her especially when she was the Lady in Black. I know she has kids now and she is trying to stay out of the dangerous stuff to protect them but I feel it kind of takes away why we all loved Rose. She seems weak and mousy. Joe gets mad at her for trying to help a kid and they fight, I know he is trying to protect his family, I get it, but dang it, it's who she is. Joe treats her like she can't handle anything. It was worth the buy but Rose and James were a force together. They were badasses wish their story could have had a happy ending.

So happy another Rose book came out.
