When DI Joe Hogarth is called to a snowbound country house, he discovers a body slumped by a broken boiler. What appears to be a tragic accident takes a sinister turn when Hogarth spots a telltale footprint nearby.

On the hunt for a killer, he uncovers a web of motives among business rivals, a bitter ex-wife, a duplicitous groundskeeper, and perhaps even the dead man’s sons.

But as Hogarth delves deeper into the victim's plans, he soon uncovers a motive that eclipses them all…

Meanwhile, property developer Dina Cruxley is targeted by a dangerous criminal campaign that hits at the heart of her business – and her life. Hogarth can no longer be sure whether he’s still the target or if the deadly game has shifted to a darker phase.

With pressure mounting, Hogarth faces dangerous alliances and insidious threats. He must consider an unthinkable pact with a sworn enemy, while colleague Sue Palmer fears the worst.

Racing against time, Hogarth must protect his friends, his team, his lover, and himself from the encroaching darkness.

THE SHADOW STEALS is the second electrifying instalment of a mystery trilogy that will keep you hooked until the gripping end.

I liked the story and characters. But the virtual voice was absolutely awful. Reading in a monotone when there was intense action, or passionate statements. Little differentiation between character’s voices. I believe this type of narrating experiment is a complete fail at the moment.

Good story but virtual voice kills it
