The timing couldn't be worse to be caught in such a vile, sticky wicket of a case: both boys are wrapped up in their domestic lives: Leonard is in the midst of wedding planning with fiancee, Pookie. And meanwhile, Hap and Brett are hard at work on their new home. Homemaking bliss will have to wait as Hap and Leonard are driven to stop the danger in its tracks and better understand the group's mission and the plans they have already set in place for helter-skelter esque mayhem.

Life changes, midnight sneaks, and dark encounters with misguided dames who yell "Chop, Chop," lead Hap and Leonard into one of their darkest adventures yet.

I suppose I should’ve expected the skinning

With a title like Hatchet Girls, I can’t say I wasn’t warned. This series has a tendency to go full-on Grindhouse with parts that get me squeamish. But, even though I’m not a horror buff, I love me some Hap and Leonard so much that I’ll soldier through the gory bits. I also liked that this one was a standalone.

The team does it again

I like the conversations that occur. People are witty and funny. Very sharp! This was a bit gruesome but I think this needs to be made into a movie!

Great as all the others. Hope he writes more soon. This one seems to give more depth to the characters

End of an era

I’ve always been a fan of what I call the “buddy protagonists” that follows the plight of two unique people who are drawn together by life into the most ridiculous adventures. I’ve been following this series since the first book, and it has been one that has become near and dear to my heart. The witty banter between Hap and Leonard is only matched by their brotherly bond. It has been a joy watching them grow together and yet apart, creating their own lives. I feel like this read was the end of an era, in the best of ways!

Great Book

Another great storyline in the Hap and Leonard series. Superb plot with a well injected sense of humor. Highly recommended!
