Kriste was overweight and turning fifty. Her approaching birthday milestone was a harsh reminder that life was moving quickly, and time was running out to become the woman she once imagined she'd be. Out of shape, uninspired, and riddled with self-doubt, Kriste was determined to make the changes necessary to tackle the next half of her life with grace, bravery, and self-love.

In this honest memoir, follow Kriste on her fifty-week journey out of her comfort zone and on the path to becoming a woman who faces her fears, tackles weight issues, finds her voice, and scrambles up mountains.

Fat Mom on a Mountain is an honest portrayal of a mother who is trying to find herself by peeling away the layers she accumulated through life. Raw, sarcastic, and emotional, this book will leave you inspired and ready to conquer a mountain of your own.

Her inner talk makes me realize I'm not the only one thinking these crazy things. Great story of fortitude through the common throws of weightloss and goal of something that scares you. Great reading. I wished it hadn't ended - I coulda heard more! If the title intrigues you even a little, just get it! Won't disappoint.

so relatable!

Loved the story and so relatable regarding goals and fear and self sabotage. It made you emotional and reflected and made you laugh out loud. What an adventure. I also enjoyed the narration, it felt like it fit the subject.

Loved it

took 3/4 of the book to get to the hike! really annoying ! all she does is question herself, doubt herself, and rehearse worst case scenarios. The whole book is her being needy, changing her mind, being all over the map, and going off on unrelated content. She's constantly requiring a ton of reassurance.I thought the book was a memoir of a hike but only the last small section was.Disappointing.
