An Adepta Sororitas Audiobook

On a distant world, an obscure order of the Adepta Sororitas studies their founder's visions. They live in solitude… which is about to be broken as danger approaches.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Peter Fehervari brings a tale of an unusual order of the Sisters of Battle, a sister breaking her self-imposed exile, and an Astra Militarum unit seeking respite from their woes… and it's every bit as weird and wonderful as you'd hope.

THE STORY

The Adepta Sororitas of the Last Candle have stood vigil over their sanctuary world for centuries, striving to decipher their founder's tormented visions. Outsiders are unwelcome… yet still they come.

Decimated by an encounter with a lethal xenos entity, the survivors of an elite Astra Militarum company have journeyed to the Candleworld in search of healing, escorted by a woman who is no stranger there – Sister Hospitaller Asenath Hyades, who turned her back on the order decades ago.

As the seekers near the sect's bastion, malign forces begin to stir among the planet's storm-wracked spires, but the most insidious shadows lie in their own souls.

Yes the book is great but it's the narrators that really shine. I wont waste time retreading points about how great a novel this is because it's an awesome mind f#@k. But the narrators take this novel to a new level, Emma Gregory's choices for character voices is excellent with each having their own range of emotions. Shogo Miyakita as the voice of the 'book" is outstanding. Peter Fehervari rolled double sixes when BL picked these two for the narration.

Great Narrators.

Almost didn’t pick this one up because of the Reddit style description Audible used but I’m glad I did. I just wish we would’ve got more of the male narrator.

Great story

A horror story in the 41st Millenia. Superb acting. Great characters. Very deep storyline which at some points was hard to follow but it was all wrapped up well in the end. Something about the Sisters I always liked. Their unquestioning devotion to their faith, but what happens when their faith is questionable? A story with many beginnings and no endings, a plague of body and of soul, plans within plans within convoluted plans. Are you the agent of light or Chaos? Neither or both? Redeemer or Condemner? Are the Xenos your allies or your enemies? All this awaits you should you dare listen.

Amazing Voice Acting

This is a refreshing, unexpected gem. Loved the style, story and narration. Did not have such great time since the old Dan Abnett works.

Awesome, refreshing 40k

Peter weaves stories about Chaos in refreshingly mysterious and opaque ways. He has a unique talent for presenting a tale that can be scrutinized and unraveled for hundreds of hidden details and connections with his other stories or simply appreciated at face value.

If I were him, I'd have had the biggest grin on my face when Emma Gregory shrieked "MERCY!" for the first time at one of the many reveals. Emma is an incredible talent with a huge range of expression and the perfect voice for this book.
