The darkness has found her again.

Daria’s new position, as a language tutor to the wealthy and charming merchant Lucas, takes her to the dazzling city of Ephesus on the Aegean coast.

As their connection deepens, Daria finds herself drawn to Lucas, despite the evil and violence that churn beneath the city's beauty.

A collision is coming, between the high priests of Artemis, the sorcerers who pursue arcane knowledge, and a new movement called The Way, centered around the Jewish martyr, Jesus.

Daria longs to remain apart, safe from the evil she barely escaped in the past, but her growing feelings for Lucas compel her to get involved.

Lucas treads dangerous ground, pulled into the sorcery invading the streets of the city and claiming the lives of young women.

Now Daria must seek help from the only people who seem able to defeat the city’s dark forces, before the man she is beginning to love is destroyed.

But can love survive the secrets the light will reveal?

Virtual voice is okay however I enjoy the human sounds better. I must admit I’m a union person so my opinion may be clouded

The story itself was good and I really wish I could leave a good review. If she had hired a real person to narrate the story, it would have been wonderful. But the AI voice negatively tainted the whole thing and it was hard for me to even get through. I almost quit listening to it a few times. I think I would try some of her other books, but it looks like they’re all AI narration and I have decided I will never purchase an audiobook with AI narration. There are so many talented narrators out there give real people the jobs they do a much better job. Even though it may be cheaper, it really makes your book unpleasant to listen to.

The AI generated voice narration- it was terrible

I did not like the virtual voice. The story was too very bloody and negative.
