Not what expected

narrator was very monotone.
story started out interesting but got to a point where it was more of an x rated novel and not much about the title or the perceived premise.

20 year old written as old hag

I genuinely hated this book. For a novel released in 2024, the 20-year-old protagonist, born in the early 2000s, sounds like a painfully stereotypical Jewish sitcom character from the 90s. Being Jewish is central to her identity, but it’s portrayed with all the subtlety of Grace Adler from Will & Grace or Fran Fine from The Nanny, broad, exaggerated, and completely dated. The references feel decades old, and the narrator’s voice and accent for Baruch only made it worse. An incredibly frustrating listen.
