At eight, he gave me roses. At fifteen, he gave me butterflies, and at seventeen, he gave me sanctuary.

I wasn't a damsel in distress. He wasn't Prince Charming waiting to whisk me off my feet. We didn't meet by chance. He's been part of my life for years, and for most of that time, I've been under his spell.

Everett Callahan isn't just the most attractive man I've ever laid eyes on: stoic, tall, dark, and handsome, the stuff fantasies are made of. He's more than that. Beyond his looks, he's loyal to the core and wears virtues like duty, honor, and respect as armor. He's the kind of guy you'd be proud to bring home to meet your dad.

If he wasn't also your dad's best friend.

I wasn't just charmed. I was completely and utterly smitten, and he wasn't interested.

That's why I put aside childish things, like my crush on an off-limits man who could never be mine.

Until he fell into my tent on my twenty-first birthday, and I saw a man instead of the untouchable God, I'd made him out to be.

Men are flawed, even Everett Callahan, and now that I know he's not immune to weakness, I plan to be a hellion ready to exploit it.

This is a forbidden, slow-burn, age-gap romance with a happy ever after. For mature listeners.

First time listening to this author. Her writing is beautiful and not super repetitive, the spice was good. The plot was suspenseful. Overall good!

Good grief. Ive listened/ read so many romance novels - it takes a bit to get me, and this one.. 👀 worth it! Can I please have a Ev?

I love LA Ferris and Salt is amazing so I feel bad for even giving her three stars BUT, this audiobook skips non-stop just like a worn out CD. I have downloaded, deleted and downloaded again but it’s still happening.

Horrible production, skips nonstop

I did not expect this to be my favorite of the series. I found this series got better with each book. The banquet scene had me rolling my eyes at the drama of it with the literal twist...er. lol
I'm normally someone who tried to not pay attention to the age gaps in books, but this one was done well imo. it was the focal trope, but he's conscience made it for me.

utterly surprised

I loved the age gap and forbidden perspective of the story. The Characters were great and very believable. The story tended to feel like it drug on at times and maybe a little too wordy at points (almost like the author was trying too hard). That being said the story 100% sucks you in and you get invested in the characters. Overall it's a great listen!

Definitely worth listening
