Excruciating errors

This book is very well meaning, but there are so many excruciating translation errors that completely alter the meaning of the text. To say nothing of the absolutely painful pronunciation errors. It’s a book on ancient Jews. It focuses on the Bible. You would think they might hire someone who could pronounce the language or even approximate it. But it’s really the factual and translation errors that are just impossible to ignore. This book would’ve been greatly helped by having a competent Hebrew speaking biblical scholar, one familiar with Jewish understanding and practice, go over this book. The lack of understanding of the actual intent and meaning of the Bible verses makes for a very misleading text. A for effort . A better choice for those seeking what this book promises would be the Rational Bible series by Dennis Prager .
