A Maleneth Witchblade Audiobook

Abandoned by her allies and hunted by the Order of Azyr, master assassin Maleneth Witchblade searches for purpose in a place from her past: Nightcliff, the City of Echoes.

LISTEN TO IT BECAUSE

Maleneth Witchblade steps out from Gotrek Gurnisson's shadow in her first full-length solo adventure! Of course, she soon finds other shadows as she sneaks around Nightcliff, seeking to avenge her sisters.

THE STORY

Maleneth's return to the City of Echoes is not a happy one – Nightcliff has collapsed into violent, decadent debauchery. Khaine himself is usurped, and her precious coven lies in tatters.

Accompanied by an ogor mercenary and a Kharadron anarchist, Maleneth sets out to avenge her sisters, but soon finds herself embroiled in a conspiracy, the ramifications of which threaten not just the city, but the Realm of Shadow itself. To stop it, she must ascend to the blood-soaked summit of Nightcliff’s Bladed Spire, and face an enemy of sky-cracking power before time itself slips out of reach.

Like Frasier before her Maleneth Darkblade takes off on her own. It manages to keep her character consistent from the Gotrek novels and maintains her character growth as well.

One the Best Spinoffs

This is my first Warhammer book. It was very good, making me fall in love with the world and the many colorful characters within it. What totally surprised me was the blatant homoerotic subtext between Maleneth and Xarissa. Even the narrator seems to play them up, leaning into meaningful pauses and heavy laden words. I never expected Games Workshop to allow queer themes, so it was a very pleasant surprise for my first Warhammer foray. Very delightful book. May become a new comfort listen for me.

Gayer Than I Anticipated

I was nervous of a gotrek spinoff but this was great! I can't wait to see who she links up with next.

Rawlins is always great

In the first 2 AoS Gotrek books (starting at realmslayer) i didn't like Malenith that much, In book 2 he began to really grow and by the time of her disappearance at the end of book 3 I was really sad to see her go. This book delivered on a lot of my hopes that her story would continue and brings with it a new group of well written side characters that i love. I'd say the only problems i had was that Penelope's voices for two of the males in Malenith's party have nearly the same voice so i got confused who was talking sometimes.

Subverted my expectations

Am a huge fan of Gotrek from the old world books so also love Felix so mainly got this just because I wanted to see how Gotreks AOS companion measured up. Was honestly really surprised how much I enjoyed her character. She is almost a complete opposite of Felix but very likeable and entertaining character. The story is great and narration very enjoyable.

Excellent introduction to Maleneth Witchblade
