We finally have Shepard Thorne's book. The twin that is always laid back, happy and acts like he doesn't have a care in the world. He doesn't let anyone in to see the real him, and he keeps his walls built up high so no one ever has to worry about him. He doesn't even know how to talk about his problems and doesn't want to. He couldn't let his feelings show when everyone else in his family had things going on and needed to count on him. But, she sees the real him.

Jupiter Jones, with wild red hair and freckles all over her face had been obsessed with Shepherd since she was 12 years old. She became friends with Cali when she attended St. Mary's reform school, and now 21 years old, she is so best friends with Cali, her stepsister and she doesn't even know it. None of them know her secret.

Jupiter is the soul caretaker of her 17 year old sister, Snow. She works 3 jobs and so has so much debt piling up. Snow has a heart condition and had a transplant last year to replace her heart. Her medical bills are due and so is rent and everything else. Plus, she has a deadbeat mother and stepfather that only come around to get money from her.

The problem is her stepfather is the Thorne's real father, and he's also Snow's real father. So that makes her sister the Thorne's half sister. They don't know any of this though, and she doesn't plan on telling them. Which become an issue when he obsession starts stalking and becoming obsessed with her and wants to pay off her debt to be secret hookup. Shepherd wants to pay Jupiter to sleep with him until he has his game back and is done with her.

Shepherd's life is messy and all over the place. After his fiance broke it off with him for his twin brother, Stellan, everyone is now worried about him. His game is off and the team is thinking about benching him. He's the Wrecking Thorne, the team captain and he's not going to let that happen. He just needs to get Jupiter to agree to be his distraction and everything will be alright again.

He's been obsessed with Jupiter since he saw her a year ago. He can't get her out of his mind. Even when he was with Isadora, he still thought of the red head that was always watching him. He wants to use Jupiter as a distraction. p

He finds her working at a strip club in town and he makes her dance for him in private rooms. He also touches her, chokes her and degrades her. She never had these things done to her and Jupiter loves it. It's a very sub/dom relationship, but only at her night job.

He wants her to quit and work for him for way more money. But she refuses even though she wants it. Shepherd is everywhere. At her morning job and her night one. If she not working he stalks her and even sneaks into her window at night to watch her sleep.

It all comes crashing down when Shepherd learns the truth of who she really is. After she finally agrees to be his distraction, he does some very cruel things and tells her he knows and threatens her to stay away from his family. It breaks Jupiter.
She ends up needing the Thorne's to save her sister's life.

When feelings start to get real, Shepherd ends things and walks out. Love had given him nothing but problems and pain. But he is very confused on his feelings and doesn't recognize them correctly. And when he finally realizes he loves her too and always has, it's to late and she gone. No one knows where she went, and Shepherd has to chase her down, and he will.

This book was really good and I read it as well as listened to the audiobook. I think the audiobook brings it to light and narrators acted out the feelings and emotions perfectly.

Amy Hall and Scott Rose did fantastic. This was a dual performance and Amy did an amazing job narrating the male parts. I like her voice when she changes it for different characters. I've listen to a few books narrated by her and she always does great.
This was my first book I've listen to by Scott Rose. He did great though. His voice was nice but there wasn't anything special to it, honestly. He did sound younger in his tone and not a deep gravely like it was described in the book. I think of the author describes how that characters voice sounds, then they should pick a narrator that sounds like that.
