Disappointed

I have loved every one of the Mitford books with the exception of this one. I think the storyline may have been good, but I could not get past the very poor narration to enjoy the storyline. This was a very disappointing end to the Mitford series.

Disappointing

I have loved all of Jan Karon's books with characters that are so relatable. When I read her books, they help me to get back into my faith and feelings.
All her books are great except this one. I looked forward to it with great anticipation, but it fell short of being what I had hoped. Not that it was bad, but there was too much history review of the characters (not needed for Mitford fans); the missing letter was irritating (not amusing); the narrator was okay, but not the best; and the storyline not as meaningful as previous books.
That said, I love the way Jan Karon writes and hope she will write another Mitford story with less summarizing, but more "meat" about the characters and how they age and develop over time.
I also prefer chapter titles, not character names; I found this confusing, especially when listening to the audible version.
I'm very happy Jan wrote another story, but I didn't find this one as intriguing as all the others; I would love to read more, but with a different narrator and less background reviews.

Thank you, Jan Karon for another lovely Mitford book! It is such a gift to spend time with some of our favorite Mitford characters after all these years! I loved it!

Mitford never fails!

Jan Karon has not lost any of her magic. She loves her characters and through them shows us how to love the people who our in our daily lives. 10/10!

I loved how once again I was brought back to the town of Mitford and the people in it. As if I was living there too. Wonderful and comforting.
