An engineer looking to prove herself. A driver in need of a comeback. One race season to win it all…

Sienna Skye is a race engineer at GreenSkye Racing, one of the top F1 teams, crunching the critical data so their drivers perform their best on the racetrack. As one of the few female engineers in the sport, she’s determined to show everyone she’s capable of winning a championship for her team.

Finn Di Santis is a driver whose steely determination and killer instincts used to win him Grand Prixes and racing contracts. Now, he’s scraping by at the bottom of the leaderboard with only his charm keeping the sponsors happy. All Finn has ever wanted is to race, but his dream might come to an end if he doesn’t start winning.

When an opportunity arises for them to compete together this season, it could be Sienna’s biggest career moment and Finn’s chance at the comeback of his life. With the cameras and pressure on them, the race is on for Sienna and Finn to fall into sync and bring home victory. As their reluctant partnership turns into something more complicated, Sienna and Finn begin to wonder if there’s more at stake here than their careers. If they can learn to trust each other, they could be the perfect equation to winning it all. But can they make it through the season with their hearts intact?

Feed your need for speed
Move over hockey, there’s a hot new sport taking over romance libraries. Formula One romances are booming right now. Maybe it’s the fact that F1 drivers are super hot, the thrill of cars racing at dangerous speeds or the exotic race locations. Whatever it is, in the new Audible Original romance The Winning Formula, you get all three. Australian author Cara Veloce’s debut is a pulse-pounding love story between F1 engineer Sienna Skye and driver Finn Di Santis. Their reluctant working relationship turns into something more as they travel the world and fall in love while trying to win a Grand Prix. The immersive audio experience is anchored by a full cast that’s a who’s who of Aussie talent, led by podcast host Maddy MacRae and actor Ryan Corr. You’ll hear the cars whizzing around the track, the sound of the crowds cheering and the crackle of radio comms as Sienna and Finn banter back and forth. What a production!!I am a F1 fan so my worlds collided. This book really captured the sport from technical terms-building strategy-high performing athlete mindset and most importantly its male dominance. Putting women in STEM front & centre through the brilliant and lovely FMC had me hollering! F the glass ceiling. MMC reminded me of Daniel Ricardo a lot(IYKYK). Oh and to add Netflix DTS into the mix was so entertaining. I was squealing. The conversations between the FMC and MMC privately and on the race radio had me on edge and fawning over them. Perfect match. I need all the F1 girlies to read this ASAP

I’ve seriously NEVER watched F1 (or most any kind of) car racing - but I took a shot with this book because the preview drew me in. It was fully entertaining! First, I have to hand it to the talented narrators & production team - the audio, the sfx & the way it was all layered into the story was very compelling. Add in the narrators & of course the story over the other elements & you have a wonderfully fun & nicely written journey with romance, girl power (which was awesome to hear), a comeback story. A very pleasant listen.
I would RECOMMEND this book!

I’ve never even seen an F1 race!

This was a really good story, and the performances were top notch. Multiple times this got me right in the feels 🥲🥺

After listening to some mediocre books, this was a nice listen and so much better. I liked their chemistry and I loved the women in STEM story line and would have liked more about it. I have never really thought about what goes on behind the scences at the F1 and never wanted to watch cause I was sure they are all just absolute sexist narcissists. I mean the book did touch a bit on that part. Anyway, now I kinda wanna watch it. Don’t tell my younger self, she would laugh at you.
The only part that drove me insane was when they kept mispronouncing Styria in Austria. It’s more like St ee ria and not St i ria.. and none of the Drs sounded even a tiny bit like they would have an Austrian accent. Other than that, I would recommend it.

Really liked it

The performances are fantastic! You really feel the rush and the fear alongside the characters. The accents are very well done overall. And the sound effects and mixing! The sound adds a phenomenal level of realism to the experience that helps to pull you in and keep you enthralled. I loved it.

The story is both unique and well-written. The elements of grief, women working in male-dominated fields, tabloid journalism, etc are expertly woven together in a character-driven story about racing and trust. Great to read something so different.

While some of the dialog is a little clunky and some of the secondary characters could definitely have been fleshed out more, there weren't any glaring issues with the book or any giant plot holes that I noticed.

I had a lot of fun with this one and would definitely recommend it, even if you don't care about racing (like I generally don't). It's worth it.

Fun, character-driven audio play for fans of slow build and realistic development in a unique setting
