After renewing the spell that keeps his soul bound to a bottle of ink and out of the afterlife, Kanin is finally able to take a breather—without the breathing part.
Noli is back in her original body, and Kanin is more than ready to join her. The only problem is he left his body with a broken neck back on Earth.
Perfectly happy to swap death-defying adventuring for some peaceful research into his semi-living condition, Kanin joins Zyneth on a low-stakes quest to the capital's library. Instead of finding answers on how he can recover his body, however, he launches a heist to steal the library's most powerful artifact, with Zyneth's freedom at stake.
Meanwhile, the predator appears to be creeping back into reality, threatening to overpower Kanin's mind for good. Luckily, the relic they need to steal might be the key to locking the predator away once more—except its prison can only be reached from the ancient Ruins of Emrox, long since sunk to the bottom of the ocean.
