I was as entertained by this book as much as the first one. I appreciated that this book picked up where the first one ended. At times, I was on the edge-of-my seat from all the intense action as I wondered what would happen to Chris, Nick, and Gabby. As I followed each of their stories, the author's descriptive words made me feel like I was there with them. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series. I thought Andrew Tell's narration was entertaining. I was given a copy of the audiobook. I volunteered, without financial gain, to post this review which reflected my honest opinions regarding this audiobook.

Crumbling Dawn: After the Impact Book 2 pulls you right back into a shattered world where survival is messy, emotional, and never guaranteed. This sequel raises the stakes in all the right ways, making it a stronger, more gripping installment than the first book.

What really stood out to me was how personal the story feels despite the massive, catastrophic backdrop. Nick’s desperate journey home, Chris’s fight to hold things together on the farm, and Gabby’s experience inside the FEMA camp, (my favorite) all bring different layers of tension and humanity. Each perspective adds something unique, and together they paint a vivid picture of a family trying to stay connected while everything else is falling apart.

Gabby’s storyline especially hit hard, her resilience in such a harsh environment makes her one of the most compelling characters in the book. At the same time, the threats feel very real, from internal conflicts to the dangers lurking in what remains of society. It’s not just about surviving the meteor strikes, it’s about navigating people, fear, and impossible choices.

The pacing keeps you hooked, with just enough twists and emotional moments to balance out the action. You can feel the weight of every decision the characters make, and that tension carries through the entire book.

I listened to the audiobook version, and Andrew Tell’s narration added a lot to the experience. He does a great job bringing intensity and emotion to each character, making it even easier to get pulled into the story.

Overall, this is a fantastic continuation of the series, more intense, more emotional, and more engaging than the first book. If you’re already invested, this one will not disappoint. And if you’re anything like me, you’ll be ready to jump straight into book three as soon as it ends.

Audiobook review: Great narration for this book. The narrator contributes to the suspense and storyline with his emotional reading.

Story review:
I am loving this series. Book 2 picks up immediately from the ending of the first one. And the drama and action continues. All the main characters have their stories being told in separate chapters which allows the reader to really focus on each person's struggles, their decisions, and the aftermath of those. I am listening nonstop to find out what happens next. These are not standalone stories. Read from the beginning so you understand each person's journey.

I really enjoyed Crumbling Dawn by Kenny Soward, and Andrew Tell’s narration brought real weight to Nick Alvarez’s desperate journey home to Louisville while Chris fought to hold their farm together. The ongoing meteor strikes, the chaos after the impact, and Gabby becoming both a beacon of resilience and a target inside a FEMA camp kept the tension high without ever losing sight of the family at the center of it all. This sequel raises the stakes in a way that feels personal and intense, and I was hooked from start to finish.

In this book, Crumbling Dawn, I really enjoyed the confrontations that Nick, Chris and Gabby have to face. I also liked the fire fighters/ rescue team that encountered the mob after rescuing the foreign diplomats from the building they were in. And of course the final chapter where Cha discovers a 4th wave of asteroids coming! Good stuff, Mr. Kenny Soward!
