What a great Rom Com read!

This is my first time reading a Laura Wood novel and it won’t be my last. I loved this story from the beginning to the end. It had such a fun plot, great character development, wonderful narration, and it had me not wanting to put it down. I highly recommend Let’s Make a Scene!

Perfect celebrity second chance romance

Laura Wood really does it for me. Her music industry romance was perfect to me, and Let’s Make a Scene was just as good! The characters are so well crafted they feel real. I love a second chance romance and that trope really delivered. I loved seeing the main characters in their youth, highly imperfect with so much growing to do but still hot for each other even though neither of them would admit it! And the present day chapters were even more satisfying because I could see how much they’d both grown. Wood is British so the Britishness of this book is perfect, which I love. (I lived in the UK for 7 years so really enjoy an authentic portrayal of the British life.)

The open door scenes in this book were incredibly hot, particularly The Kitchen Scene. THE KITCHEN SCENE!!!

If you like second chance romance and celebrity romance def check this one out.

Also Bloodlust is such a good name for a vampire show… why hasn’t that show been made irl?

One of the best romcoms I’ve read in a long while

I don’t give a lot of 5 star reviews, but this is one of the best books. I’ve listened to in a long time. It was charming and deeply romantic.. It weaved the past and present together really well - it was a slow burn, but the payoff was worth it. And the author definitely did a lot of research on set life of a movie production. The chemistry between the. MMC and the FMC was off the charts. But beyond the romance, (which was excellent) all of the characters were well developed. There were many side characters and each of them had such distinct personalities and they were all really fun. I have to give credit to the narrators who did such an excellent job for portraying each of these characters distinctly. Honestly, this was a near perfect romcom, but with a good amount of gravitas thrown in. And I loved all the rom-com movie references - the Bill Pullman leaning scene was perfection. it was one of those books that I simultaneously wanted to finish and never wanted it to end. I would love to see this developed into a Netflix movie.

I don’t know how to feel about this one.. I really really loved the first book in this series and enjoyed the cameo but I didn’t buy the romance in this one. The plot and story were there but I just didn’t connect and I don’t know why. I still enjoyed it but I’m not obsessed or felt !! after it ended.
