Things take a depressing turn at Deadeye Manor after the shocking return of Mr. Weirdie and the Enchantress. Barnacle Melancholy and Garlic are put to the treacherous task of finding a lost family fortune buried somewhere within the manor, only to awaken some vengeful spirits with a diabolical plan all their own. Meanwhile, Miss Emily has decided that disguising her sunny personality as a wretched criminal is the best way to rescue the triplets, only to find herself in a high-stakes roller-boogie contest with her most loathsome enemy. Listen at your own risk, and don’t say I didn’t warn you.

This series never disappoints. They are written and delightfully funny. Helena Bonham Carter’s narration was flawless.

We're big fans of The Weirdies series over here, and were surprised when we started the audiobook and there was a different narrator. We love Kate Winslet and I couldn't place the new voice until I went back and read the new narrator is none other than Helena Bonham Carter!!! The story explained the narrator change in such a clever way that totally fit in with the series' vibe. The plot of this installment is hilarious and ridiculous (roller boogie skate-off!) while maintaining its dark, yet kid appropriate tone.

I’m really picky about narrators and don’t care for most of them which makes it a total joy to say I loved the woman who did this.

She was so inventive and talented that I stopped midway to see who it was and was happy to see Helena Bonham Carter’s name. Splendid job, girl!

The story is such a quirky, funny and bizarre creation that I enjoyed it throughout. Dandy job!

Kate Winslet’s narration of the first two Weirdies stories was wonderful, so I was a little worried to see Helena Bonham Carter in this one. I should have known better — she’s *great* and the explanation for the narrator change is wickedly funny. I love that there are jokes for kids AND jokes for the grownups (not in an inappropriate way, just references that little ones will miss).

My only complaint is that I wish there was more! Longer books, or more of them. Highly recommended.

Hilarious for all ages
