The finale of the Steamborn series is here!

Stormborn (Audiobook seven)
A throne claimed. A city reborn. A family broken.

Thanks to the help of Jacob’s Titan Mechs, much of Belldorn survived the battle that ravaged its shores. But the war is far from over.

Their hopes rest on Furi bringing the Skyborn into the fold. But Samuel has another plan that will take them back to where it all began … behind the towering walls of Ancora.

As hope begins to fade … so come the Stormborn.

Stormforged (Audiobook eight)
An assassin slain. A fleet prepared. A battle looms.

Jacob fears their time is running out. The full focus of Belldorn and Bollwerk’s tinkers is centered on the construction of new warships.

To deploy their ground forces they must secure a base, requiring a strengthened alliance with the forest city of Karn. Steamborn and Skyborn must stand together in the looming battle … or both will fall.

An enemy takes advantage of their distracted attention and strikes. But they are not the only forces moving in the shadows. Owen and the fisherfolk are closing in, intent on giving Mordair, now Steward of Ballern, a farewell he’ll never forget.

Stormsworn (Audiobook nine)
An echo of war. A fractured alliance. A looming prophecy…

Mordair’s sinister agenda has been revealed, leaving countless shattered lives in its wake. He seeks a pact with the Children of the Dark Fire. One that will break the foundation of the alliance.

Karn prepares to fight beside the Stormborn, leading Jacob and Alice to a nightmarish place known as the Dead Woods. There, the land itself is poisoned, making the air toxic to every creature who dares enter. Secrets lie hidden in an ancient control center, a glimmer of hope in the crushing darkness.

But everything comes at a price.

The forests will burn. The skies will darken. Amid it all, the Stormborn will rise.

I highly recommend the bosses of this story. the stories flow together in the boxes. it is so nice to have hours of anticipated storyline across multiple books in a series. I did not have to relearn characters between book. there is a perfect balance between romance and action and thrills. hours of great entertainment.

I love the trilogy boxset

Fantastic culmination to a series that I have loved. Filled with war and camaraderie. So much emotion.

The narrator brings this set to life brilliantly.

Perfect!!!

“Find me in that steamsworn grave.”
The cities of Belldorn, Bollwerk, Ballern … Bxll-, Bxll-… they all ran together, much like the characters, plots and dialogue. How can you tell who the bad guys are? They strung children on the walls. Jacob builds something to save the day. Alice finds a book that reveals a big secret. It felt like every book had the same elements and the only tweak was to add in a new ally or kitchy tribe (sand, cave, sky people…).

It wasn’t terrible, and it passed the time, but it ran way longer than it needed to. This wasn’t nine books so much as three spread out and stuffed with redundancy.

Not different enough from books 1-3

I will power through to finish the story, but this trilogy is so boring. I enjoyed the previous books, but this one just dragged on. While I like the characters and their interactions, the story itself got painful.
Book one is ALL setup. Almost nothing happened.
Book two continues that setup for over 20 chapters. Then the story finally moves, and it feels better.
Book three finally had some movement but the final fight was way too quick. It was a skirmish instead of a war. The entire last book should have been war... Then it went right back character building to the last page...
It feels like Eric dragged a single book out into a trilogy and it was a huge letdown.

What a bore...
