All three books of the bestselling Derelict series in one collection!

One captain’s death might turn out to be humanity’s best chance at survival.

As humanity expands into the stars, it discovers the universe is a hostile place. When Captain Slater of the USS Franklin is assigned to a deep-space reconnaissance mission, his ship is destroyed by an unknown alien race.

Much to his surprise, Slater isn’t killed—he’s transformed. He is now a “derelict,” a consciousness bound to his old vessel. Slater must quickly adapt to his new existence before raiders, alien armies, and mysterious forces seek to destroy him for a second and final time.

HOWEVER…though I’m very old, the progressive nature of this story line by this author was nicely enjoyable to me, anyway. I guess building up and brutally destroying enemies is still part of my nature, at least in this case. Well worth a credit for time spent casually listening and dozing off occasionally in my dotage. And yes, I AM still quite sharp according to my favorite caregivers. JK!

Not into LittRPG, but more SF and military SF

It was a very solid litRPG book. I got a free review copy, but I would have paid a credit for the box set. I do wish there had been a bit more explanation for the final battle in the last book. It felt too quick at the end. And I really thought that enemy was a core itself... I'd probably call it litRPG lite though, not a lot of focus on stats or leveling up. Quick and fun though, and the narrator was good

Solid, worth it for the box set

Gotten through book one so far; fantastic narration by Jack Voraces, love how he gives each character their own voice. Story is great, interesting take on the litrpg genre, placing it space & turning a few tropes on their head makes for a wonderful world to listen to.

Fantastic Narration

I started out not being sure if I liked the story or not. By the end of the 1st book, I was just interested enough to keep listening; I'm glad I did. I ended up really enjoying the story as time went on and I think it's one I'll revisit in the future. I really liked the dungeon core elements and I kinda wish it leaned into it more than it did. I'd recommend it if your into both fleet combat and dungeon core books.

sci-fi dungeon core that develops into a great read
