Great Narrator- tough story

A story of two cultures. Career dreams broken and struggles to keep a dream career while closeted and not honoring your true self. This was a cute foundation for some very tough realities for many queer people even in 2026… I really enjoyed all of the characters- the MCs were wonderful but their friends were fun and supportive too- perhaps other books could be written about Lex or Red in this series- the writing was top notch. Freddy’s very real struggle with her lost dream career, her Vietnamese culture vs Lesbian identity ( if we don’t talk about it… it is not real) Their relationship could be developed so much more.. I would like to see another chapter in the Andrea and Freddie… story.

Humor and Love

What a sweet love story with some gut laughs and chuckles mixed in. And the voice of the ever wonderful Abby Craden makes this a must listen!

Being in the closet is hard

How can one be completely happy when one cannot be completely themselves?

Andrea loves her job, but she doesn't love that she had to go in the closet when she got her job.

Freddie is out, but she cannot act out in front of her family. Her father is handling her being a lesbian, but her mother is not and her grandparents have no idea.

Freddie and Andrea's relationship starts out completely in hiding. After getting verbally attacked by a gossip rag writer Andrea decides she can't handle lying anymore.

Can Andrea handle coming out to the public, and can Freddie handle her parents and grandparents seeing her in the media as Andrea's GF.

Adorably Cute

The story itself was cute, the usual in hiding and scared to come out story line. There were a couple of things I didn't understand like ship lines, I think that's what they were called.
Abby Craden as always brought the characters to life, and narrated beautifully.

totally fun!

the characters are believable and touch on some excellent emotional baggage many people have and even, in this day and age, don't realize they're living their lives in a certain way. Great book!
