The only trouble is that her zeal to clear her friend lands her in the top spot on sexy-but-grumpy Detective Maverick’s list of suspects. If her life were a game of Chutes and Ladders, her latest roll would have sent her off the board.
As she chases down leads in the close-knit town, she discovers that cedar shingles and overflowing flower boxes can sometimes hide ugly secrets, and everyone from the dead man’s estranged wife to his son-in-law to an old flame could have done the deed.
Rainbow is no stranger to helping out, high heels, or hard-hitting questions, but this mystery puts her faith in humanity and journalist training — not to mention her skills with a frying pan — to the test.
