With humanity on the brink of extinction, can one man make a difference?

After a hard fought victory, Captain Faulkner's ship is in urgent need of repair.
So he heads for Blackthorn, a solitary space station out on the edge of the known universe.
A million people call Blackthorn home but when a vast and untamed threat rises up from the depths of space, the station's destruction seems all but assured.

Faulkner has fought his fair share of desperate battles in the past but this is one fight he can't win. In order to save lives he's going to have to learn to make sacrifices.

But he'll be damned if he'll stand aside and watch the slaughter of innocents.

I hope there’s a book too. If not, I left too many things hanging in the virtual voice cannot pronounce words with EA in it pronounces lead like lead does not know the difference.

Good story

Any listener with even an elementary understanding of space travel will be insulted by the idiocy of the characters, does the author think we're dumb or is he? A meeting of officers with property 100 yrs of combined education and experience are amazed by the brilliance of recommending an orbital assist maneuver, come on, really? And the Marines lead by the genius CO on an away mission couldn't, didn't even try to contact the ship, why? Makes no sense.
It's too bad, it's a decent story, the author shows some talent but maybe he should stay away from Sci Fi as most of us consumers of the genre are fairly knowledgeable about the subject. Perhaps this author should watch / read some SF like the Expanse, The Martian or even Star Trek, get some background dude, learn something or.....write fantasy.

Two hours left in the book and idk if I can continue.
