J Fitzpatrick has been training dogs professionally since 1980 when he qualified as a Royal Air Force Police dog handler. He retired from the Service in 2013 as the Senior Instructor, Joint Service Dog School, at the world renowned Defence Animal Centre, in the rank of Warrant Officer. During the period 2010-2013 he headed the Young Military Working Dog Development Programme, which involved the sourcing, selection, development and training of specially-bred puppies from whelping to licensing as operational Military Working Dogs and Service Police Dogs. Since retiring from the RAF Police he works as a professional dog trainer and behaviourist. He is a member of the British Institute of Professional Dog Trainers, a Canine Practitioner with the Canine and Feline Behaviour Association and a member of the Pet Education Training and Behaviour Council. He is Vice-Chairman of the British Police and Services Canine Association. He holds a Foundation Degree in Canine Behaviour and Training awarded by Hull University and a Certificate in Education (Post Compulsory Education) awarded by Wolverhampton University. He now shares his knowledge and experience, accrued and refined during 35 years spent training and developing Military Working Dogs and thousands of family pets with you, to ensure your new puppy becomes a happy, balanced, valued and much-loved member of your family.
