A mega-earthquake is coming. And it’s not natural.

Beneath Los Angeles, something is moving.

When mutilated bodies start appearing in the city’s subway tunnels, Detective Alana Williams is assigned a case that makes no sense—

Until the ground begins to shake.

Seismologist Dr. Michael Trent is tracking a series of impossible tremors.
Not random. Not geological.

Engineered.

Something ancient is awake beneath California.
Something intelligent.

And it’s building toward a catastrophic event powerful enough to destroy the entire West Coast.

As the tremors escalate, the government prepares a last resort:

A nuclear strike deep beneath the earth.

But Trent knows the truth—

It won’t stop the disaster.

It will trigger it.

Now, with time running out and millions of lives at stake, Williams and Trent must descend into the darkness below the city—

Into a hidden world no human was meant to see—

And stop a force that could tear the planet apart.

Before California becomes ground zero.

Perfect for fans of Michael Crichton, James Rollins, Matthew Reilly and high-stakes technothrillers packed with science, action, and global consequences.

I'm not sure i can finish this book. The story has promise, but it is taking awhile to get going. SO much backstory on everyone is exhausting and I keep tuning out. The marration is bland and with no personality. Maybe using AI in audible will get better, but it's not there yet for sure.

AI should not be used as narrator.
