Interesting premiss

the story is great, liked the twists. the narration though needs a lot of help. tone was always wrong.

No affliction, pitch change, etc to narrators voice.

I’m sure the book is better than what I rated, but I just could not continue listening because of the narration. It was hard to tell character change, excitement, sadness, etc.

A Promising Story Weakened by Digital Narration

I’m new to the dystopian genre, and while The Female Saga and Uprising has an intriguing concept, I found it quite difficult to follow on Audible. The story moves between the future, the past, reality, and dream sequences — which can already be complex — and the digital narration made this even harder.

The voice lacked emotion and tone, so it was sometimes challenging to connect with the characters or sense the tension in the story. Chapter titles and headings were often repeated or announced awkwardly, which disrupted the flow. It felt more like listening to an automated reading than a fully produced audiobook.

The book itself seems imaginative and layered, but the digital narration made it difficult to appreciate the world-building and emotional depth. I think I might have enjoyed it more as a physical or e-book rather than in this digital audio format.
