This was such a fun read! Blakely is very much the “poor girl just trying to survive” type, but she never feels cliché. She’s had to grow up fast, carry way too much responsibility, and protect her little brother at all costs. She doesn’t trust easily, and honestly, she has every reason not to. But she’s also someone you can’t help but respect; she’s determined, loyal, and willing to sacrifice everything for Nate.

Jamie is totally gone for her as soon as he meets her. Full instalove, full obsession, full “I would die for this girl I just met” energy, and somehow it works. He’s loyal, kind, honest, and confident in a way that makes you root for him immediately and love him.

The meet‑cute was a little far‑fetched, but honestly, only Jamie could have pulled it off. I loved how he just rolled with the situation. I love how as the book goes on, he keeps showing up for Blakely and Nate without hesitation. Their relationship is slow burn in action but not in emotion. Jamie is obsessed from the start, and I loved that. His immediate instinct to help, to protect, and to give them both a better life made him such an easy hero to love.

And Nate! He was such a great side character. Blakely’s love for her brother is the heart of the book, and it really shines. I loved watching Jamie bond with him too! From helping with football and hanging out with him, he treats him like a little brother. It added so much warmth to the story.

Overall, a heartfelt and fun read. I’m sad the series is over, but this was such a satisfying way to wrap it up.

Loved It!

The MCs brought black cat versus golden retriever energy. Blakely was left caring for her teenage brother and had a moment of weakness that led her to Jaime’s house. He and his family welcomed Blakely and her brother, creating the “found family” these two deserved.
