Most Americans — and people worldwide — understand that despite our remarkable technological advances, something is deeply wrong with the direction of our country and world. There are a variety of causes but Mr. Lepard believes, and wrote this book because, too many are missing the one, principal underlying cause: The Money Is Broken.

Through his own personal story, and tracing the history of how we find ourselves in this condition, he explains in layman’s terms what happened, why it is wrong, and how we can fix it.

This book addresses the pressing issues of inflation and wealth inequality and points out that we do not need to suffer with these ills. It is a call to action for people of all ages and political persuasions. Sound money and personal freedoms are what built the America, that post-World War II, was widely admired and stood at the pinnacle of the world. Sadly, we have drifted away from the principles that took us there.

The book also discusses today’s investment climate, the threats that savers face, and the likely path of markets over the next decade. There is a warning here. There will be winners and losers. The monetary transition engulfing us will create enormous changes, but we have many reasons for optimism. New technological developments and trends are taking us to a much better world.

Understanding our monetary system is the key to solving today's global challenges. This book reveals why our future depends on one critical mission:

FIX THE MONEY to

FIX THE WORLD

I've listened to the author on many podcasts and interviews and liked what he was saying. The book is even better.
He introduces the financial world and its development and changes over the last decades. All in a very detailed and easily to understand way.
He proves his deep and thorough understanding of the issue. I've learned a lot and am definitely going to read it again

While this book is a giant advertisement for Bitcoin, and rightfully so, it also delves into the more recent history of how we got screwed under the Fed since going off the gold standard in 1971.

Of course, we have had many booms and busts since then, and this book helps to explain how it got that way. I would add this book to a collection on the history of money, some macroeconomics, politics, and tech, centered around Bitcoin, including, “The Bitcoin Standard,” and “Broken Money.”

This book is the more recently published, but broken money is still bad money, so the only thing that’s changed is the higher adoption curve of it.

This book focuses using a more specific lens on what transpired during the Great Depression, the Great Financial Crisis, and the pandemic.

The numbers are staggering, the amount of deception is mind-boggling. Why anyone would agree to continue to live under this madness, is crazy unto itself.

However, the author, as others have before him, such as with “The Bitcoin Standard,” and “Broken Money,” makes a convincing case for why a return to sound, hard money under Bitcoin is likely the only long-term solution. In the interim, there is a giant, once-in-a-species, asymmetric bet to make generational wealth from this eventual monetary reset.

I happen to think they’re all correct.

Buy Bitcoin.

A good primer for those interested in sound money.

I found the history of the Fed and its many failures enlightening. It's also clear how the Fed's ties to the banks are not in the best interest of the citizens. The US economy is really a house of cards, held by greedy men.

Very Insightful

The overall story is important and well written, it’s a good alternative to Broken Money and The Bitcoin Standard. This story needs repeating.
For a book aimed at beginners, it still contained too many technical parts (boring numbers and details about US politician behavior).
The audio wasn’t perfect, the narrator struggled at the beginning and overplayed the quotations (as if mocking them), and many repetitions were left unedited.

Good intro
