It’s splatter punk genre, so expect some descriptive grossness. I enjoyed the story and would definitely read or listen to more by this author. The Audio version was AI narrated, so not the greatest as far as narrative performance, but was still a good listen regardless (I listened to the prequel as well).

Would listen/read more by author

I would love to narrate some books if you all need narrators. I had three years of drama in high school. Always thought I would be good at it.

No more computer voices

Without spoilers, the story doesn't make any sense. Lucy does things she wouldn't and exposes herself way too easily. Particularly once you hear what happens in the epilogue. Oliva is also a poor protagonist. She's not as expressive and the rare emotional moments she does get feel forced in a way. Honestly just skip this book and leave "Please, Pick Me," as a one-off book.

A Poor Follow-Up

No idea what the point of this book was. The premise could’ve been interesting… misunderstanding and revenge! But no. Just a former friend antagonist who doesn’t behave in a way that makes any narrative sense. Lucy’s behavior also doesn’t make sense here. This feels like the author just needed to rush something out.

Skip it.
