Mike Gold’s company, Global Lunar Electrical Energy, has established the first permanent settlement on the Moon, and its lunar solar farms are beaming power to Earth. Soon, billions will be getting cheap, clean electricity supplied by GLEE. What had been Mike’s audacious dream five years ago has become a reality. Then the body of a long-dead man in a spacesuit is discovered on the Moon, and it appears that no one knows who he is or how he got there. A terrorist attack destroys the first GLEE power station on Earth. A spaceship returning GLEE staff from their pioneering two-year stint on the Moon is sabotaged, killing all on board. While Mike struggles with these alarming events, the man known as the Tsar, the President of Russia, plots to use GLEE as part of his plan to reconstruct the Soviet Union and recapture the 14 former Soviet republics on Russia’s border. He and Mike meet at the Tsar’s vacation estate, where he threatens Mike and his family if Mike does not cooperate with his evil scheme. When Chechen rebels launch a full-scale attack on the estate, Mike and the Tsar barely escape. With the lives of his family in jeopardy, will Mike give in to the Tsar’s wicked demands? If not, how will he protect them, let alone the citizens of Russia’s neighbors, from the claws of the Russian Bear?
