When Hardy decided to cross the post apocalypse desert to keep away from the cannibals that now roamed his country, he took as much water as he could find. He had his meagre belongings on a sled with the water and walked out into the desert. He killed and ate anything that came within his reach as he travelled but water was always the problem. He found a crashed aeroplane and managed to distil water from the engine cooling system. He found other things there but to make his sled heavier was not worthwhile. When he walked on he travelled at night when it was cooler. As he walked he heard a scream, a high pitched scream. He slowed as he walked and came to a canyon. There was water in the canyon and he needed water. There were also cannibals in the canyon and he had to avoid them. When it was pitch black Hardy chose to try to get some water. He was on his way out of the canyon when a voice asked him to take her with him. He kept going and listened to her story. They were trapped there with the cannibals and the cannibals were slowly eating their way though what Hardy found out were a group of children. He knew now why the scream was so high pitched, it was a child and the cannibals had him. He knew he had to do something, but what?
