The Integrity and Influence of Bishop William Saunders Crowdy

The Appeal for Unity represents the culmination of a long, arduous journey towards my Master of Divinity Degree from Payne Theological Seminary. From the moment that I place my feet on that historic institution, my mind was on bringing unity to the Church of God and Saints of Christ faith community by returning to the legacy and work of Bishop William Saunders Crowdy. So, this book achieves that purpose, namely, to focus on the founder’s life and thought to highlight his integrity and influence that might serve as a model against the schisms currently plaguing the church. It is my prayer and hopes that this work will inspire a transformation back to the founder’s vision of a unified church and a unified people. As such, this work is not merely for the COGASOC community, but it is also for other denominations confronting conflicts within, and if not appropriately addressed, could lead to schisms and divisions. Thus, may my explorations into the historical, biblical, and theological foundations for this book serve as a source of inspiration and courage for those seeking unity in the body of Christ.
