From ARNIE to DOLLY, BLACKADDER to SCORSESE; GRAHAM NORTON to HARRY POTTER; the VAGINA MONOLOGUES to ZOOM, welcome back to the irrepressible and unstoppable world of Miriam Margolyes.

Packed with her wit, wisdom and unfiltered stories, The Little Book of Miriam is a memory palace of Miriam's extraordinary life's standout moments, opinions and conclusions. Never forget that this is a woman who knocked back WARREN BEATTY, played to an audience of TWO THOUSAND NAKED LESBIANS, injected sex into the CADBURY'S CARAMEL BUNNY and was VOGUE'S COVER STAR AGED 83. Miriam is always full of surprises and this book is too.

Deliciously dip-in-able, thought-provoking and mirth-inducing, elegantly designed and always interesting -- whether sharing daring declarations, behind-the-scenes antics or talking about the indignities of ageing, this is a book as unique and extraordinary as Miriam herself.

Editorial Review

A little book that’s big on laughs
It doesn’t matter who you are, it’s impossible not to love Miriam Margolyes. Whether for her trademark humour and unfiltered style or her accolades in acting and writing, Margolyes has also stolen hearts for being a “naughty national treasure” thanks to her fearless, candid and bold attitude. Whether it’s her interviews or writing style, there’s an undeniable honesty in her approach that is incredibly endearing. And by offering listeners a behind-the-scenes look into her world and once again lending her voice to the audiobook, The Little Book of Miriam is sure to be big on laughs and everything else we’ve come to love about her. —Michael C., Audible Editor

Uncensored sincerity is a rare find from the an autobiography, and an even rarer thing to hear voiced by the author. Miriam Margolyes does not shy away from her opinions, her flaws, or her fancies through a series stories that are often amusing, sometimes heartbreaking, but always entertaining. Her book is a fantastic lesson in how to present compassionate authenticity. It’s a beautiful memoir!

As a long-time admirer of Miriam Margolyes, I've always cherished her vibrant personality and her deep appreciation for Dickens. From her captivating performances in films, audio books and documentaries to her engaging stage presence in productions like “Dickens Women”, and her unforgettable moments on the Graham Norton Show, she has consistently brought joy and laughter into my life. However, her recent release, “The Little Book of Miriam”, has left me feeling disappointed. While it retains her signature humor and anecdotes, much of the content feels like a rehash of stories we've heard countless times before. The once-shocking use of profanity now seems tired and lacks its former impact. Furthermore, despite being marketed as light reading for the bathroom, the book is bogged down with political rhetoric that inadvertently reveals a layer of hypocrisy. It feels as though the book was crafted primarily for commercial gain—something Miriam herself has openly acknowledged. It's a shame to see such a beloved figure reduce her rich experiences to a collection of recycled tales, all in the name of cash.

I have been a huge fan of Miriam Margolyes for many years and appreciate her love of Dickens. Over the years I’ve enjoyed her movies, documentaries, appearances on stage including Dickens Women and her notorious antiques on the Graham Norton show. However, her recent book The Little Book of Miriam is a complete disappointment. Sure it contains her required sense of humour and antidote, but for the most part, it is regurgitated tales that have been exploited over and over again, and her use of profanity has lost its lacklustre. Although presented as light reading for the toilet, the introduction is saturated with political rhetoric, inadvertently underscoring the hypocrisy at its core. The only reason this book was written, is for one reason and one reason only that Miriam proudly announces often, cash!

Guess What? You’ve Heard All This Before
