Sick, shocking, evil

I like psychological thrillers and enjoyed the first book “The Favorite Girl”. This book is harder to listen to. It is violent and sick. Rape, torture, beatings, abusing women, murder, sex trafficking, kidnapping….every women’s worst nightmares.

Trigger Warning!!! This is very very dark!! It was very tough to listen to this book however I couldn’t stop! I had to know what happened next.

An ending for Demi you wouldn’t expect ever.

No boundaries with Monica Arya, if it’s twisted and completely messed up it’s fair game for her stories. She is an author I’ll read/listen to all of her books.

Let me tell you something MONICA

I read the favorite girl and I was hooked but I was also questioning everything about everything. It was a page turner for sure and at no point did I know where this story was gonna go. It was dark and twisted. BUT THEN, I listened to the caged bird and every time I thought it colluding get darker, IT DID! And you know what I started questioning if I was insane for wanting to continue after each twist cause it never went where I thought it was gonna go either. Tbh I gave up trying to guess what was gonna happen next cause there was no point. 10/10 the writing, the writing performance, the story, the plot, everything, was perfect! Can’t want for the next one to come out.

intriguing concept

overall, I enjoyed the story and was intrigued by the concept. Dark and disturbing. the writing style was easy to follow, not a lot of jumping around to different points of view, or having too many characters introduced.
