Betrayal always offers the choice: be bitter or become better?

After discovering her sister Marnianne’s betrayal, Milli’s whole world and all her dreams crumbled like a poorly made cake. Just turned 23, she struggles through the end of the worst two years of her post-adoption life. Feeling alone in the world except for her elderly aunt and two best friends, she has to deal with a difficult pregnancy and a harder choice after her divorce.
At the urging of her ex-mother-in-law’s lawyer, Jean Lasater, Milli Velvet Haywood leaves her busy life in Vegas as a Wedding Cake Artist to protect her newborn niece and unborn child. Milli tries to get used to small-town life in the resort community of Pagosa Cliffs, Colorado after moving in with her century-old Great Aunt Elizabeth at The Wild Anemone B&B.
However, with new starts come new challenges. Can Milli move forward and forgive her sister? Can she be better? Or will the bitterness of her life sour her future chances at happiness and love?


This story is all about choices. It is about overcoming versus succumbing.
