Narrated by Lena Lee and Alexander Neal, this dual narration brought Evie and Rhett’s story to life in such a delightful way. Lena’s soft, heartwarming tone was perfect for Evie’s inner monologue (especially those adorable moments of awkwardness). And Alexander Neal? That southern drawl? Ma’am, Rhett Darlington could read me the major league baseball rulebook and I’d still swoon. Their chemistry wasn’t just on-page—it was in every whispered word and flirty exchange.

Evie is sunshine with a cause, freshly graduated and ready to save the educational world (but also maybe her puppy from becoming homeless). Rhett is every southern baseball boy fantasy rolled into one—tattoos, heart of gold, and a puppy snuggle monster too. Together, they’re the definition of slow burn meets steam. And while this romance might’ve started as a “keep it secret, keep it casual” deal, there’s nothing casual about Rhett’s sweet, possessive energy.

This story had me grinning like a fool and wishing I could go see a real Tridents game.

This is a sweet, romantic story.

Baseball star Rhett finds that his best friend’s little sister is all grown up and he wants her. The narrators do a great job of bringing these characters to life. Evie has crushed on Rhett for years. But now he’s helping her out by allowing her and adorable pup Ruthie to stay with him until she finds a job. How can she handle being so close? Yea. Close proximity. You can certainly tell where this is going. Rhett has dyslexia and Evie was a rather sickly child so they both have some hurdles to deal with. Her brother is a bit over protective. He keeps his dyslexia a secret from her. But Evie is going to teach special ed now that she’s graduated and Rhett knows that so keeping his dyslexia a secret seemed silly. Obviously she supports him when he finally comes clean. Evie’s older sister was quite harsh and her comments were uncalled for in their confrontation. Surprisingly her brother reacts more mature than expected when he’s told about her relationship with Rhett. And it all works out in the end. Dream job. Dreamy boyfriend. HEA.

Steal A Kiss is book #4 in the Vancouver Tridents sports romance series. Evie is done with grad school and out of student housing. She intends to stay with her brother Kai, but with the stray puppy she rescues, his building doesn't allow pets. Enter Rhett Darlington, the Southern Charmer, her brother's best friend...and the target of her secret crush since the day she met him. This was such a wonderful addition to the series...secret relationship, friends-to-lovers, best friend's sister, sports romance, a little angst, cute puppy antics, and eventually some steamy scenes!! Binged it and loved it! This series is definitely not to be missed.

The dual narration was so good! Alexander Neal and Lena Lee are both new narrators for me and I hope to hear more from them in the future. They gave us the angst, the passion, the humor...really enjoyed their performance. 5/5 stars!!

Rhett & Evie

Okay, I devoured this in one sitting. It’s sweet and has the most adorable puppy named Ruthie who lowkey stole the show.

Evie’s just finished her special ed degree and finds herself needing to stay at her brother Kai’s place... except there’s a tiny, furry problem, Ruthie, the stray pup she rescued. With Kai’s building being anti-pet, in steps Rhett, Kai’s best friend and teammate, offering up his spare bedroom. Evie has had a crush on Rhett for a long time, so this is either a great idea or a very terrible idea! Rhett is laid back, helpful, and just the right amount of flirty. And Evie is sunshine personified with a heart of gold. Her passion for working with kids with learning differences had me tearing up, and watching Rhett connect with that part of her? SWOON.

Their friendship blossoms into something so real and heart-melting. Rhett made sure she felt every ounce of love. They had intense chemistry together. It was really sweet the way they interacted together.

Lena Lee’s voice was soft and genuine and really nailed the Evie vibes. Alexander Neal as Rhett was so good, the southern drawl absolutely charmed me right into next week.
This story gave me all the feels and ALL the heart eye

charmer meets his match

Rhett Darlington is the Southern Charmer of the baseball team who finally falls for his one. Evie is his best friend’s little sister but these two have known each other for a while, and now that Evie graduated from college she needs a place to stay- found a dog she gets placed into Rhett care. These two have chemistry and find their way, with some steamy times.
This story is a super fun friends to lovers, he falls hard, BFF little sister, forced proximity sports romance. The narrators did a great job to match up with these two characters, it helped so much with the story via audiobook. Really enjoying this series!!
