Under The Sea

A delightful tale (illustrated by Layla Skye) of a message being passed around the creatures of the sea who have heard the real-life mermaid princess is about to touch the sea once more. And so they await impatiently. Layla Skye comes to the beach with her parents, the first time she's been to the beach. She's convinced she's a mermaid ... and a fairy ... and a werewolf. As soon as her foot touches the water a ripple spreads around the sea. She picks up a crab ... and then a starfish, and further out there is a seal whistling to her ... and then a dolphin leaping up and down. Her mother is puzzled by all of this but it is only when a very large orca starts to head to the shore does she tell Layla Skye it's best if they head for the picnic in the car. Layla Skye waves and calls to them all. This is a wonderful story for young children who marvel at the wide world. And so they should. This sense of wonder stays with us ... forever.
